Hello, Poppets!

2 min read

So, it has been quite a long time since I have spent any amount of time towards DeviantArt. I had been living in a place (my adorable tiny house) with NO WIFI! It was a bit of a challenge, but I am proud to say that I actually loved my little home. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. So, here I am now, living in a townhouse... in town (I rather miss the peace and quiet of the country. Along with the ability to actually see the stars at night. My nocturnal star photography has taken one hell of a hit). Regardless of that, I live in (ugh, the hood) with my (nerdy, gamer, DND master) boyfriend; I have a different job (not that different, unfortunately); drive a different car (aww car payments, no)... and have a different dog. Thats right, my sweet old chihuahua passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, three years ago, after an unfortunate incident. She is greatly missed. My current dog is a 6 year old rescue, ive had him 2 years, and he is a handful. He is a miniature pinscher cross with what we think was a spineless lump of anxiety. He is scared of everything, and barks at everything, and is a pain in the arse. Even with anti-anxiety medication! That all said, I do love him. He is black on all but a few toes, his chin, and his chest. His name is Max. Now, it is rather late where I am, so I should get going! Have a good day/night/evening/etc and thank you for reading!

Woo-Hoo!

So, my dad and I've been working on building me my own tiny house. We started working on it this past spring, and we've almost got it completed (except for the important stuff... like natural gas and the sewage system, which have to be completed before the snow flies). I'm really excited to have my own space. Pretty soon I'll have the space and quiet to write and draw to my hearts content. I think my pets are almost excited as I am, everytime Nix (my Chihuahua) goes in there she just starts snorting and rolling around on the floor (which I like to think is her way of approving the openness) and Asparagus (my cat) keeps just staring at it with these big huge eyes (I think he wants to climb the walls).  I'm also fairly certain my parents are even more excited and then I am about my moving back out (they miss having an empty nest).

So, last summer, my computer died, which made me very sad (understandably). I've been saving up to get it fixed (hopefully without losing all of my important files), but so far, no luck. Apparently I need a whole new hard drive (which sucks). I've been trying to do all my stuff on my tablet, but that just isn't working! My poor tablet is in no way made for handling all my work stuff as well as all my recreational stuff (poor critter is gonna give up the ghost soon if I don't find some way to get my laptop up and running, its not exactly new, and I'm not exactly kind to electronics). The worst part is that my dad has offered to get my laptop fixed! But there's a catch (there's always a catch)... School only. If he gets my laptop fixed, there's NO Deviant Art, No Tumblr, NO Pinterest, NO anything that I normally use my laptop for! I generally use my tablet for work stuff (way less clunky to carry around than a 15.3 inch heavy duty laptop), but he doesn't quite understand I guess. Oh well... I guess beggars cant be choosers.

So, January in PG is hell. We get loads of snowstorms, high winds, and -30 weather. Apparently, though, seeing as how we are hosting the Canada Winter Games this year, we got nothing. A wimpy, week long cold snap, maybe 4 feet of snow, and lots of above zero weather (resulting in rain. Which melted the majority of our white wintery goodness). Not impressed. I see a drought in our future.

Aah, the lovely scent of Prince George in the spring... The pulp mills, the melting dog poop in the snow, and all the other lovely scents. Not to mention the nasty spring-melt-puddles! Some of them are deeper than my tires! Scared I'm going to drown my car!  Oh, the daytime temperature is wonderful, though... if it didn't freeze at night, it would be so amazing!!!
